Create Some Real Juice on Facebook

Facebook

Facebook has created a new feature where you can establish an "interactive" social presence for your business. This is a way for you to build a fan base for your business.

Let me explain something: Whether you are a writer, a small business owner, or a large corporation, you have to build a following for what you are doing.

Many writers could sell a whole lot more books if they built a loyal following. When you have a loyal following, you are a known quantity.

For example, if you’re a fan of Stephen King, you probably read every book he writes. King is just one example of someone who has a loyal following. Having read Stephen King, I’ve learned that you either love his writing or hate it. However, millions of people the world over love his writing and buy his books every time he writes one.

See, what makes a loyal fan base so important is that these people are easier to sell to. They know you. They have a relationship with you. You won’t have to spend as much time, money, or effort to market to those who are loyal followers of you.

Some may find this insulting. Maybe you think that you are exploiting others by doing this. However, that’s not how it works at all. When developing a loyal fan base, you’re providing value in whatever you’re offering. If you’re not, people won’t stick around long.

So, when you build that loyal following, offer something of value, and let your loyal following know that you appreciate them.

You’ll find all of the details about this program over at Facebook. If you’re not a member, then I highly recommend you join. Currently, this is the hottest Web 2.0 site on the internet, and in my opinion, far superior to MySpace because you can build real business relationships and friendships.

The Facebook idea makes a lot of sense. Do you think that software that lets you know whether you sales letter will be profitable (such as Glyphius) would be helpful when writing copy for the Facebook page and/or videos? Thanks!

    Lee,

I really don’t know anything about Glyphius. However, your sales letter should always appeal to your target market. That won’t be everyone.

I would recommend browsing through the listings. Which ones pique your interest? Those will be the listings you want to use to create your own.

Thanks for posting. I really wish I had a better answer. I’ll definitely look into it though.

    Hi Jinger,

Interesting how you use the author Stephen King
as an example. His works are, as you say either loved or vehemently hated. the man who developed the tool, Glypphius, mentioned in the previous comment gets a similar reaction. Generally speaking his tools are wonderful time savers. Keeping in mind that you can please everyone there are some who complain about the persona of James Brausch. Personally I think the guy is all right.
