With the economy in a downward spiral these days (it will go back up), it’s more important now than ever for you to take care of your family.

The sad fact is that 74 percent of parents have no will. What this means is that if anything happens to them, their kids will get sent to the foster care system. Quite frankly, it is sad for this type of situation to happen, and regardless of who you voted for yesterday, it’s your responsibility to make sure your family is taken care of.

Mortgage planner and personal credit specialist Steven Barchetti is offering a free teleseminar tonight with Alexis Martin Neely, the author of “Wear Clean Underwear.”

In her book, Neely offers what is called the “Choose Your Own Adventure Series.” There are three sections in the book, and at the end of section, you get to choose where you will go in your journey.

What makes this style so engaging is that at the end of the journey, you will know exactly what you need to do to insure your children never end up in the foster care system because you died.

I know this is something none of us want to think about. The fact is, 80 percent of the population of the United States will live to at least 65, and unless you have kids in your late 40s, this really isn’t something you have to think about.

However, if you have children, you definitely want to take the time to take care of their future.

This is the second in Steven’s series with Industry Leaders. As he continues to post these, I will let you know about them. It’s important for you to insure your own financial future. Don’t depend on politicians or anyone else to take care of you. It just won’t happen. Take care of yourself.
