Craigslist Posting

James Brausch wrote an interesting post on getting traffic from Craig’s List. Now, although I wasn’t able to locate the post he was talking about, or I simply missed it, for those of you who want to use Craig’s List to get traffic, you should definitely read this.

I agree with James. I don’t see the point of 1000 or million or whatever spammy ads being posted to Craig’s List to promote your business.

If you really want to see success on Craig’s List, or any other site for that matter, read the guidelines for the site. By following the site guidelines, you are more likely to get better results from your internet marketing efforts.

The real secret to higher website conversion is to target your market, write sales materials that get the customer’s attention, and then post your sales materials to the appropriate sites, whether it’s free classifieds, articles, or whatever. Just posting wherever you can for the sake of being seen is really just a waste of time.

Personally, I prefer using US Free Ads. The site is run by professionals who actually care about classified advertising. Too many on Craig’s List post as a way to be heard, and personally, I don’t think that’s a very good venue for venting your frustration, or worse, lying to promote your own agenda.

It takes more work to take the high road and execute your marketing campaign by the rules, but in the end, you’ll make a whole lot more money because you’ll put your products and services into the hands of those who want want you sell.
