Hitting the blogs for your news

Approximately one out of every 125 websites on the internet is built on the WordPress platform. WordPress is flexible enough that you may use it for blogging, a content management system, or a combination of both.

What’s even better is that sites built on WordPress tend to rank higher.

Regardless of what platform the blog is built on, blogs have become very influential on the internet, especially when it comes to virally marketing stories across the internet.

It also seems to be quite influential with reporting the news. Even if Obama gets his way and stamps out talk radio, there will still be plenty of blogs out there reporting on what’s really going on, all of the stories the mainstream liberal media refuses to report.

Let me caution you though, when reading blogs, make sure that there is a link to the story the blogger is pointing on. It lends to credibility. I learned that one the hard way when I made a blog post I had read and didn’t cite the story.

Cite your stories, and if the story is on another blog, trackback to the other blog. It contributes to the conversation online.

It looks like blogs are here to stay, and I for one am glad because
I’ve found some pretty good stuff on them to share with my readers.
