Internet marketing is one of the fastest ways to market your business online. By testing and tracking your results, you can know in a few hours instead of a few weeks whether your marketing campaign was successful.

At the same time, with billions of pages on the internet, and tons of information for surfers to wade through, your message can quickly get lost.

Like most anything else, when you are marketing, there are several things that you can do to improve your results.

The first thing is to do your homework. If you have to write your own copy, learn how to write copy first. If you’ve never used Google Adwords before, but you want to market using this service, then it’s a good idea to buy a book or ebook on the topic and study it very carefully before spending that kind of money.

Another thing you can do is to study forums on both your product, as well as what you want to learn how to do. In the process, you’ll find out what customers are looking for, and you’ll also meet others who might have the same problem you do. You’ll also meet people that can teach you what you need to know, or recommend a product or service that will help you get the job done.

Choose how you want to market your business and create a plan. This is especially important if you are paying for advertising of any kind. Work that one method for awhile. Test it, tweak it, and make it work, or move on.

Being an internet marketing purist, I have several methods that I use to market, and these are the methods I stick with. They include search engine optimization, article writing, forum posting, and blogging. Occasionally, when I have news, I post press releases too. Although what I do to market my business online works for me, it might now work for everyone. My internet marketing plan is very writing focused, so it might not be right for everyone.

However, regardless of how you want to market on the internet, this is a blog about internet marketing. Sooner or later I will cover every way to market on the internet and give you my best tips.

If you have a question, ask. There’s always a convenient form at the end of each post. I’ll do my best to answer it.

You can also post your comments.
