There are two services at Google that you should know about: Google Base and Google Checkout.

Google Base is formerly the Froogle program, and you can use this service to get your products included in Google’s searchable product catalog. This service is free. All you need is a Gmail account, which is also free.

Google Checkout is a program that allows you to sell your products and services through their shopping cart. It offers a secure shopping environment for shoppers, and it allows sellers to sell their products and services, as well as integrate their Google Adwords campaigns with their selling efforts.

This program is also free to join. You won’t pay anything until you sell something, and the transaction fee is very low. If you use Google Adwords to promote your products and services, you will pay even less because Google will allow you to sell a certain monetary amount of product before you will be charged to sell through Google Checkout.

Google doesn’t allow certain products to be sold through either program, so before getting started, I would recommend that you read the FAQ for each one before getting started.

If you’re looking for a way to sell more of your products and services, this is a good way for you to get started.
