Web CEO is much more comprehensive about the statistics and information it will give you on your keyword research than Good Keywords is.

In fact, it calculates KEI differently than doing it yourself. What you need to look for here is higher numbers. The higher the number, the better the keyword. Also, you can use Web CEO to look for the top sites in your KEI.

If Web CEO doesn’t open with the Quick Launch when you first open it up, you can click on the Go button in the bottom left hand corner. What this will do for you is bring up the start screen.

If you haven’t added your site yet as a project, then you can click “File”, and then “New Site” on the top menu to add your website. All this requires is giving your site a name and then adding the url. This will allow you to work on your site after this.

To do your keyword search, click “Go”, and then click “Find Keywords”. You can use tab 1 to help you find keyword ideas. Tab 2 allows you to do research on your keywords, including KEI so that you know how often a word is searched for, as well as competition. Tab 3 allows you the view the competition, and tab 4 will tell you how many pages have the keyword on it, as well as in the title.

You’ll also find out how many sites link back to each of the top sites, as well as traffic rank and Overture bid prices. Overture bid prices will help you decide if you want to bid on these keywords to drive traffic to your website. You may also discover some searches where there are no pay per click bids. This will allow you to bid on these keywords at a really cheap price and drive traffic to your website using pay per click search engines.

You’ll also find out the page rank for the top sites. Many of the sites you will find here have a page rank of anywhere from five to eight. Although there are many off page factors, like linking, that contribute to this, there are also many on page factors, like search engine optimization, which help these sites raise their rankings in the search engines.
