You may have heard me talk about Lulu.

Lulu is a place where you can go to not only sell your books, but you can create both PDF and print versions of your books to sell.

This site ranks about 3,000 on Alexa, so it’s a very highly trafficked site.

For those of you who don’t have a business yet, or are looking for new revenue streams, this may just be for you.

You’re probably wondering why I chose self publishing over traditional publishing. After all, sometimes self publishing can have a reputation of badly written books. That’s true.

There are badly written, boring, books everywhere, and some of them have been published by traditional publishers.

There are several reasons though why I chose self publishing over traditional publishing.

First, if I need to do updates to my manuscripts, all I have to do is make the changes to my Word document, reload it, and I can have the changes showing up in a couple of minutes.

Second, it allows me to get my information to market much more quickly. This is very important because things change very quickly on the internet. Information changes.

Since I do have books/ebooks that I update and give the updates to my customers for free, this allows me to do it quickly and easily.

Third, Lulu does all of my PDF conversion for me. All I had to do was download the Word template they offer, write and edit my book and then upload it in Word format. Lulu takes care of the conversion process for me.

Fourth, this gives my customers options, as well as giving me two products. My customers can buy my books in either PDF format or print. I can also give my “Internet Marketing for Free” ebook away for free from their site, and this site, because of its traffic, gives me another opportunity to build my internet presence. You can’t make sales if people don’t know about you.

Finally, Lulu takes care of all of the distribution of my books. They charge me the printing cost of the book plus 20% in commissions. I get to keep the rest. No traditional publisher does this for you.

Since you have to promote your writing regardless of whether you go with a traditional publisher or not, why not make more money from your sales?
