How to Conquer The Empty Page

How to conquer the empty page

I am sure that what I’m about to say will probably anger a few writers. After all, writer’s block is a very real issue for some. Not for me. The reason is that I believe that in order to be a good writer, you have to be an avid reader. I never struggle for ideas. In fact, as we speak, I have dozens of ideas for articles, as well as for about 20 new titles for ebooks I would like to publish.

However, if you are a writer who is also an avid reader, and you’re still struggle to come up with ideas, then maybe this article will help. It’s written by Jim Fletcher of WND.com. I love Jim Fletcher, and I’ve been reading him for awhile now. He writes a lot of book and movie reviews for WND, but he also offers a ton of information for writers, so make sure you dive in and read all of those. It’s well worth the effort, and I’m sure you’ll find plenty of ideas for your writing. Now get to it!

Live Your Writing Dream

Live your writing dream

Let’s face it. The Kindle is hot, and it stands to stay hot for years. In fact, I think that all of the ebook readers will be hot for years. The reason is that computers, ebook readers and cell phones have changed the way that we consume information.

Personally, as someone who is an avid reader, I really like the idea of being able to download 1000s of ebooks onto my computer and carrying them along with me. From what I’ve heard of the Kindle, which I am hoping to get for Christmas, it’s very similar to reading a book.

Jim Fletcher, a columnist for the website WND.com recently did an interview with self publishing guru Carol White. White is the author of  “Live Your Road Trip Dream: Travel for a Year for the Cost of Staying Home,”  a travel book.

I hope you enjoy the interview. If you’re serious about your writing, Kindle could be a great way for you to break out, so you don’t want to miss this.

5 Ways to Get More From Your Article Marketing

In my opinion, article writing and marketing is the most effective way to market your business. The reason I feel that way is because it has worked for me. It’s worked for plenty of others too. Since I’ve started doing it though, I’ve learned there some things you can do to get more out of it.

Although there are plenty of ways to get better results from your articles by the way you write them, that’s not what this is about. This is about what you can do once you have your article written and ready to submit.

1. Syndicate to as many sites as possible.

There’s been a lot of talk about the duplicate content penalty. The problem with the duplicate content penalty is that this applies to webmasters. As an article writer, your job is to get your articles in as many places as possible. This is about syndication. Who do you think makes more money: the article writer who syndicates on 10 websites or one who syndicates on 1000?

The secret to syndicating your article in as many places as possible is to find an article submission service that fits your needs and budget. Then start sending out your articles that way.

2. Look for publishers with large lists who accept articles.

There are plenty of ezine directories available on the internet that give you tons of information on publishers. Do a search for ezines on your topic.

It is absolutely crucial you submit your content to publishers who publish what you write. You’re wasting your marketing time by submitting to publications unrelated to your list, even if they do have large lists.

Do a search in the search engines too. Search for your topic plus the word ezine. Check the sites to see if they offer an ezine and if they accept submissions. Although this is time consuming, it can also get you a lot of traffic quickly.

3. Post it to your blog.

Some article marketers will tell you not to put your articles on your blog or website. I believe just the opposite. Your readers may not visit article directories. Or, they may not see the ezines your article is published in. If you have a loyal following, make sure they see your articles. It builds credibility for you.

4. Offer your article in different formats.

Have you ever thought about creating a video article? How about an audio version as a podcast? This is something I became sensitive to after finding out one of my readers was blind. She can’t read the content on my blog. Now it’s available in audio so she can listen.

There are tons of free tools now you can use to turn your articles into audio and video. Search for freeware or free software. There are thousands of directories online with all of the tools you need.

5. Write more articles.

I believe it was article marketer Jeff Herring who said that if you want more business, write more articles. Unless you’re writing articles for bum marketing, just remember to write articles that brand you too. The more articles you have circulating, the more little sales machines you have out there pulling traffic for you.

Now, want more business? Get busy writing those articles!
